c. Rachel deposited the money from the yoga fundraiser.
d. Currently, there is $90.36 in the PLG account. Vantage West charged a withdrawal service fee for writing a check; Rachel will investigate this.
e. After the Jamba Juice Fundraiser, Rachel will purchase a 1G thumb drive for PLG.
2. IRLS 504 Sessions
a. There are enough brochures for the first session. Sho will make corrections and have those printed for the second session.
b. The Dine Around is this Sunday, 8 June, from 5-6:30pm. Miss Saigon and Sinbad’s were suggested as options.
c. The Dinner is Monday, 9 June, at 5pm. Both brochures and Jamba Juice Fundraiser flyers will be made available.
3. Projects
a. Newsletter
i. Due to the amount of copy and limited amount of examples, the class recommendation portion will be saved for the next issue.
ii. Sho and/or Nicole will follow up with Danielle about the Tom Wilding article she volunteered to write.
iii. A blurb will be posted on the wiki about suggesting a name for the newsletter.
iv. Sho will have the newsletter complete in time for distribution to the IRLS 504 sessions.
b. Panel Discussion
i. Rachel plans to meet with Tom next week regarding this project and his involvement.
ii. Rebecca looked into the food grant from the UA club website, but is not sure if it is the same one Nicole and Jacy talked about. Jacy will send Rebecca the link to the vendor grant she is familiar with.
c. Dry River Library
i. Nicole will email the listserv about picking a date to go one of their meetings and ideas about organizing the library.
d. Lost Film Fest
i. Jacy will meet with her contact from the School of Media Arts, Prof. Jennifer Jenkins, to discuss how PLG and her department can collaborate and fund this project next week. She seems enthusiastic about the collaboration.
e. Accessibility Project (New)
i. Jacy gave a report on the web and PDF accessibility workshops she attended that Dawn Hunziker from the Disability Resource Center offered. Dawn would be interested in presenting a workshop for PLG regarding these topics and tailoring them especially for information professions and librarianship. Members unanimously voted to have her give this workshop.
ii. Jacy will manage this project, which will encompass the previously proposed project with the Sonoran UCEDD. Jacy will update the Project’s wiki page.
iii. This project will also include practical aspects: promoting free library services and resources for individuals with disabilities at the DRC, UA Library, and Pima County Public Libraries; as well as posting small instructional sheets at computer stations to accommodate the visually impaired or those with learning disabilities.
4. Fundraising
a. Jamba Juice
i. Jacy will send Sho the flyers to print and make copies to distribute.
ii. Rachel signed the requests for taxpayer identification number and certification forms needed to hold the fundraiser. Jacy will turn these into Jamba Juice and give them a stack of flyers to hand out before and day of the fundraiser.
b. GPSC Grant
i. Rebecca has made the changes and additions to the grant that were discussed on the listserv.
ii. The grant is ready and Rebecca will send it in next week.
